Officially the K5 line of processors went up to a 116MHz version (PR166) and was discontinued when the K6 was released in April 1997. However, there are some K5 PR200 around, probably as sample chips for mainboard manufacturers or for testing purposes. The K5 PR200 never has been officially released and is not mentioned in AMDs technical documentation (the fastest K5 in the Data Sheets is an AMD-K5-PR166ABX).

Comment by Paul Christian Claudio (pcclaudio[at]gmail.com):
Though k5-200 was not officially released by AMD, it was widely sold here in the Philippines (though not that long, shorter than Barton based Durons, even shorter than K6-III). Some cash-strapped PC enthusiasts got hold of these chips, while they are waiting for another cycle of their hard-earned cash to get hold of an upgrade for their brand-new, upgrade-friendly socket 7 mobos. It could have been that it was not released there in the us because amd would have rather spend their marketing resources in promoting their then, just-out k6 processor. K5-200 and K6 went out almost the same time.

An early K6, made in March 1997, shortly befor the official introduction in April. It still misses the 'Malay' marking under the Windows 95 logo and the I/O voltage marking later K6-166 have.

Comment by Hopeapaa (hopeapaa[at]hotmail.com):
This little chip didn't have any multiplier-lock so I ran it using the 3x multiplier supported by the motherboard and used the clock-speed of 3x50 = 150 Mhz. With this kind of configuration the chip really stood up the name "P75", since it slightly over-performed the Intel Pentium 75 Mhz. I had this chip in active use until the Pentium 2 and K6 chips hit the 300 Mhz barrier and I upgraded the motherboard and CPU to K6 300 Mhz in the year 1998.

This one has a strange engraved logo, not like the K6-2 chips have, but quite different.
